The Guinn RISE Program exists for students who are committed to doing the hard work of recovery. Separate from the traditional campus experience, we offer a safe, sober, and supportive environment where healing is prioritized, commitment is honored, and every student belongs. RISE nurtures academic success, personal integrity, and lasting resilience so that every student can thrive in their recovery and beyond.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Plano ISD students in grades 9-12
- Voluntary participation — student must demonstrate a commitment to the recovery journey
- Complete program application
- Participate in an interview with the administrative team and LCDC
- Willing to participate in random drug testing as a condition of enrollment
- Documented completion of therapeutic services prior to enrollment, including one of the following: inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, rehabilitation, or long-term therapeutic services
- Recommendation from a counselor/therapist
- Substance use assessment
- Negative drug test result OR documented evidence of decreasing substance levels
- Commitment to maintaining the following academic and behavioral standards:
- 90% or higher overall attendance
- Passing grades in all enrolled courses
- Positive behavior consistent with program expectations
- Parent/guardian written consent for program enrollment and consent for student participation in therapeutic services
- Active parent/guardian involvement throughout the student’s participation in the program
